Well, the database sucks almost as much as the code for exactly the same reasons, so I didn't see why not. :V I could have fixed it incrementally, but then I'd be writing brand new code against a crappy db and trying to patch it up later. Why not just do it right from the start?

Yeah, that's true. You did have some pretty big tables. Obviously I don't know how things were performance-wise, but it makes sense to try to reduce some complexity. Who knows what strange cases they'll put in the next set of games, but there always seems to be something that creates an "exception" to the current data relationships.

Cool!
Some more notes: Habitat has the [RS] icon while it should have the [FL] one (frlg introduced the habitat types).
Also, the Kanto [RB] in the Pokédex numbers should just be National, because it applies to all Pokémon (even the ones not found in Kanto). Though it's still the Kanto pokédex ordering, so it's your choice.
Is the Flavor information in Veekun Prime going to be added, too? (sprites, information, sugimori)

Other then that, I'd really love support for other languages. I mean, not like a plugin, but right for the Spline Pokédex core on your site. It would be the first multi-lingual Pokédex ever! For now, only the interface could be translated, with the Pokémon information staying in English. I'd gladly translate the interface to Czech and I'm sure that people would translate it to other languages, too.

Blurgh, I knew that would be a problem. The silver double-width icons are meant to represent the generation, not the individual versions.
National dex number is a bit awkward. Strictly speaking, I should show both an RBY dex number and a National dex number.

Yes, the flavor page will get updated.

I'd like to have the Pokédex in every language, but (a) I'd need to actually finish it first and (b) I'd need devoted translators!

Aha. Why not just have the icons with roman numerals? I guess everyone would figure out it's the generation then.

Awesome.

Well you already got one!

God knows you can rely on bablefish, if you type sandwich it somehow translates it into a sandy witch. Not kidding.

I tried icons with roman numerals, but they didn't work so well. Of course, I was trying to make them fit in 16x16, and they kinda.. don't. I might try it again now that I've succumbed to a double-size icon.

And yes, one, but ideally I'd have some for other languages too. 8) I suppose I know someone who can do French..

Yeah, it should look good with 32x16.

I'm sure you could find a lot of people willing to translate, probably from just creating a thread here. There's one problem though -- there are languages with Pokémon released translated there, and other where Pokémon are released in English. For the Pokémon-localized languages, it would probably have to be loaded from a whole separate database D: ouch. For the ones with only English releases, I suppose data could be left in English. Or some weird system for displaying both English and user-translated stuff like types and flavor stuff into that language, but I bet that'd be a pain.

Aren't all the multilingual Pokédex entries in Platinum, though, should you seek out where to rip them? That would be something.
So, google bombs don't work any more.

You should still download software to make your computer cure cancer.

I already got them ripped, actually :O If you want them, just tell me (I'm sure Vee has them, though)
There's other translated stuff, though, like the Pokémon names, move names, flavor text for pretty much everything...
