Well, I have this theory...
Maybe... There could be a game...
Where you could go to all the regions.
You'd have to choose a starter which was in all of them, something like Pikachu, that was barred from evolving, and it would have a special move that it wouldn't normally get.
Your starter would have a set level for each region, so if, say, you started out with a Pikachu in Kanto and trained it to level 17, then went to Hoenn for a bit, your Pikachu would be reset to level 5. If you then went back to Kanto, your Pikachu would still be level 17.
I got this idea from the anime. Think it would work?
I worked out there are only eleven starters to choose from, and I picked special moves for them.
Pikachu (Volt Tackle)
Zubat (Cross Poison)
Psyduck (Hydro Cannon)
Kadabra (Extrasensory) [couldn't really use Abra for this]
Machop (Mach Punch)
Tentacool (Sludge Bomb)
Geodude (Earth Power)
Magnemite (Flash Cannon)
Rhyhorn (Zen Headbutt)
Goldeen (Aqua Tail)

I agree with Philly. If the starters are going to be anything, make them the regular starters, and give THEM special moves.

Trouble is, though, the regular starters don't appear in the Pokedexes for other regions...

So? You can get hoppip before the full Pokedex in FrLg, so why not starters? Don't let technical limitations limit your imagination!

I was thinking that it was a multiplayer game where you are all called by the professers to study a new region. You would use save data from any generation 3-4 game. You can level up past 100, so you would end up fighting level 120 gyms! It wuld be for wii, so even save files from gamecube you could play with! It wuold be the most epic pokemon game ever!

You do have a point. How about the legendaries kinda have younger forms? I mean, they had to have grown from some point in time to be this powerful-looking(besides Jirachi. He looks young, anyhow. Also, besides Mewtwo, since he's a genetically created pokemon, like Porygon.)

Yes, and my friend's brother fround a Dial and Palki, basicly younger, baby forms of Dialga and Palkia in the programing of D/P/Pt.
