Things I'd like to see, or what might be helpful

Right now I'm training a team where each member has a certain EV that they are assigned to train. So far the Special Defense one is lagging behind, because I can't find anything to fight! The only thing I know of is Burmy, and they don't exactly pop up anywhere.
So my first request is this: The ability to search for an effort value, and see which pokemon offer it when you fight them. That way I can find out what else gives away Special Defense without having to scroll through the whole pokedex.

My second request is a competitive battling helper. You name your pokemon, and it gives you suggestions as to what natures would be helpful for covering its weaknesses or enhancing its strengths, and also possible movesets to go along with these stats. Perhaps it could be built into the IV calculator! If possible, maybe it could also tell you what roles it would be good for in your team, like a Tank or a Sweeper. Might wanna link to definitions of those, if you've got them.

Something else I've always been curious about- the lines in the pokemon page that say things like "Likes to run" or "Often dozes off." Some sort of thing explaining those would be nice. I mean certainly I've looked it up on other sites, but you want a complete database, right?

Also, for artistic purposes, it would be very nice to have the rest of the sprites that represent a pokemon in the flavor text/images sections. By this, I mean the two that represent it in the menu, and the three that represent it in-world. These little things are also different for each generation, right? You could include them for each one just like you do with the battling sprites.

Tentacool and Tentacruel give Sp. Defense EVs, so that might give you a boost.
You know how you used to always want to be a superhero, or you wanted video game characters to be real? Just think about how horrible it would be. Every day would be chaos because something would wreak havoc, or some sick narcissistic madman would try to conquer the world with his legion of evil.

these explain what the highest IV on your pokemon is. For example: "Likes to run" means that the highest IV your pokemon has is in its speed stat. However, that does not mean it is 31. It is still a random number. The only exceptions are the starting pokemon at the beginning of the game. They have max IV's (31 in all stats), so it doesn't matter what the little blip at the bottom says for them. however, IV's are not transfered from breeding, so any pokemon from an egg will not have the same IV's as their parents. If you want to know what your pokemon's IV's are, go to the IV calculator.

This would be a very good idea. If I knew how to do this, and specify it for each individual pokemon, I would.

IV's are transferred from breeding, though. While the stats don't get completely copied, the IV's in three random stats get passed on. The mother and father both contribute their IV's for one stat, and than the third is chosen from a random parent.

I didn't know that part about it. That's very interesting to hear.

Also, it's not true that your starter will always have max stats. I've tested several in the IV calculator.
"Tentacool and Tentacruel give Sp. Defense EVs, so that might give you a boost."
Thanks, but I haven't quite gotten that far yet, unless there's somewhere where you can find tentacool with an old rod that I'm forgetting about.

Do you mean max stats with 255 EV's in each and every category? Because that's impossible. Either that, or I've been told lies over the years.

Oh. Well, obviously, I'm not the smartest pokemon trainer in the world. I still have a lot to learn.

Such is life.

And another thing! Why is there no location information on pokemon you find in trees?

Really? I never noticed that. They should have the route that the tree was at...

EV search: You can already do this!

Battling helper: I've considered something like this, but I don't know enough about battling to really spec it out, and haven't gotten around to pestering anyone about it. But yes, I'd like to do it.

IV hints: Yeah, been meaning to put these somewhere too.

Other sprites: I don't think the menu icons changed at all between R/S and D/P. I'd definitely do in-world icons if I had them. Maybe I should hunt down extra things like those, spinoff game spritesheets, etc.

Really? How do you do the EV search? And what about the location of arboreal-dwelling pokemon? But yeah, the more sprites in your collection, the better. n.n

To the left: 'Search for Pokémon'. At the top, 'Habitat (not in D/P):'; at the bottom, 'Effort Given'.

I see! Not entirely sure I understand the range thing, but it's a start. Now I just have to figure out which of those are accessible...

In the meantime, I've noticed something else that seems to be missing from Veekun- firstly, I was looking at the page for HM03, and it was missing the last two locations. Then I was looking at the items, like the fishing rods, and they didn't have any locations at all! What's up with that?

And just now I found this under Yanma:
Miscellaneous moves: pokecenter Sweet Kiss
What's that all about?

It only shows locations if you can steal them from Pokémon.
So, google bombs don't work any more.

You should still download software to make your computer cure cancer.

For the regular items, you mean? That's not good, some of the rarer items could really do with some help like that.
